Fran O’Hara undertook a research study for her post-graduate teaching certification on this topic, meeting with many public and private sector organisations to assess their approach to accessibility. Several of these organisations have now become clients of Scarlet Design and she contines to source new ways to improve the accessibility of print and communications.

Accessibility in its simplest form is about providing each indivudal with an equal opportunity to access information, its a basic human right, and a legal obligation. The new Human Rights Bill which will be enforced in April 2012 extends the scope of these legal obligations, as Age has now become a strand which organisations need to create equality objectives for.
