How can Co-production  be used to create self-empowered and resilient communities?
Meet-up planning event 1

North Wales CoPro Meet-up

Several  organisations and individuals in North Wales have  expressed an interest in meeting up to discuss how co-production can be used to create self-empowered and resilient communities. This is an opportunity for us all to get together and have a ‘big conversation’.

– Refreshments from 2.30pm with the event from 3:00pm to 5:00pm
– At: Pavillion Theatre, E Parade, Rhyl, Clwyd, Wales LL18 3A

Co-organised and led by Pam Luckock and Fran O’Hara, our aim is to plan a Co-production Seminar in North Wales later in 2013, and create a model for regional events. Also, building new connections and identifying a group of people interested in taking the project forwards. Pam & Fran were part of the ‘Communities Can 2012’ conference steering group and aim to build on work started there. In addition to their recent co-production workshop with Flintshire C.C. and the Penderels Trust, and work with Denbighshire C.C.

The event will be split into two sections, the first hour with presentations providing background and scope. The second hour will be run in a ‘World Café’ format, with participants discussing key questions, recording their responses on tablesheets, and co-creating a strategic vision map drawn by Fran.

1. Purpose of meet-up?

• Define co-production and how to ‘make it happen’
• Think about connection to compassionate communities

2. What will be discussed?

• Who should be part of community?
• What should be focus of seminar? • How could it be funded?
• Who should attend and speak? • How to structure the seminar?

3. Who should attend?

Our plan is firstly to involve 6 North Wales Local Authority areas of Denbighshire, Flintshire, Conwy, Ynys Mon, Gwynedd and Wrexham. We do wish to extend the ‘meet-up’ invitation to anyone who is interested.
